BOOK OF RULES

01.  Information

THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS LEAGUE IS TO KEEP QUAKE WORLD ACTIVE, SERVERS WITH PLAYERS ALL DAY LONG AND HOPEFULLY BRING SOME NEW MEMBERS TO THIS AMAZING COMMUNITY.

It is an online Quake World 1on1 deathmatch competition that uses a Round Robin System with 5 division groups, with similar skills, could be more or less depending on the number of sign-ups.
We are looking for a maximum of 12 players on each division, as the
duration should be maximum 3 months to the end of this league.
(In case the number of sign-ups exceeds, we give preference to European players, known nicks on Quake World servers on a daily basis and players that didn't give Walk Over's on Thunderdome and Duel Showdown).
The objective is direct confrontation, points, frags and ACTIVITY.


ABOUT DISCORD:
Admins, Players and Guests are set together on #rules, #main and #results text channels.
Each player has their own DIVISION and is properly placed on his private division channel.
A channel named #GAME-REPORTS is there with the purpose for players to make their reports by posting a .RAR or .ZIP file with the DEMOS FROM ALL MAPS PLAYED.

MESSAGES NOT RELATED TO SCHEDULING on DIVISION channels will be DELETED .
( #main channel is there for that purpose )

NOTE : If a player presumes that was misplaced on a division, he should talk to an admin before the league starts  and present his “case”.

02. Registration

HT-QDL® is open for all European Quake World players. However, non-European players are free to sign up as long as they play their matches in Europe.
Registrations must be made by filling the form located on LEAGUE SIGN UP section of this website.

Players with multiple registration entries will be disqualified. It's NOT possible to play in several divisions in parallel.


03. Clients

ALLOWED CLIENTS:
ezQuake (2.1.x, 2.2.x, 3.0.x, 3.1.x, 3.2x, 3.5x)
FodQuake (0.2, 0.3, 0.4)

FTEQW (1.00)

Standard QWCL, mqwcl and FuhQuake are no longer valid for competition play.
The allowed proxies are Qizmo 2.91 and the latest QWfwd.

ALLOWED RULESETS:
ezQuake: smackdown, thunderdome or qcon

FodQuake: eql

FTWQW: nqr

Players are required to do F_RULESET CHECK before game start.
Using disallowed clients/proxies/rulesets will lead to a disqualification.


04. Game settings and rules

Timelimit 10 minutes.
Overtime 3 minutes.
DMM3.
No powerups.
Discharges on.
No fairpacks.
Ktpro spawns (unless both players agree on a different mode).
sv_maxfps 77.
No berzerk, midair, instagib or other unusual modes.
Fallbunny on (unless both players agree play with off).
Spectators are allowed by default but if ONE player DOESN’T AGREE then MUST BE changed to NO SPECTATORS.
(this is to avoid "ghosting" by players)

QTV is available for who wants to spectate.


05. Maps

This league's map pool will be 8 MAPS

MAPS ALLOWED:

DM2
, DM4 , DM6 , AEROWALK , ZTNDM3 , BRAVADO , SKULL , SHIFTER
EACH PLAYER PICKS 3 MAPS AND ALL 6 MUST BE PLAYED !!
(all 6 maps must be different)


THE FIRST PERSON TO PICK MUST BE DONE BY THE FOLLOWING EXAMPLE:
(If players don't agree on who picks first)

06. Cheating / Whining / Scripts

Disconnecting voluntarily during a match means a straight walkover on current map (unless "timed out" - decision by admins).
No unnecessary whining.
Lame people will be treated lame, nice people will be treated nice.
Any kind of idling or lameness will not be tolerated and can lead to WO in the current game or to a ban for the current season.
Scripts are not allowed. Make sure to check that your opponent has them turned off before starting to play.
If your opponent was using scripts during the match because YOU didn't check before it started, then WILL BE ALLOWED !


07. Scheduling / Reporting matches

SCHEDULING your matches MUST be done on discord's proper division channel on HT-QDL® server always identifying with @ your opponent.
After the game is properly scheduled an admin should be identified as well with @ to let them know the time and date.
Private chats between players and / or admins will not be accepted. ALWAYS USE PROPER DIVISION CHANNEL FOR SCHEDULING.
(this will make things easier for the ADMINS to track which player tried to schedule and which player didn't, for WO purposes)

Each player plays ONCE EVERY WEEK with a different player on their division only.
A calendar with NEXT GAME and NEXT OPPONENT will be presented at the RESULTS/CALENDAR section on this website.
The WEEK STARTS every Sunday and END'S every Saturday. ALL WEEKLY GAMES MUST BE PLAYED WITHIN THESE DAYS.


REPORTING your matches MUST be done on #GAME-REPORTS channel on HT-QDL® discord server by the winner or in case of draw by any of the players. All map DEMOS must be compressed into a .ZIP or .RAR file and just posted on the channel with your name and your opponents name ( ex. hammer_vs_ragga.rar )

Upload the .mvd demos downloaded from the server. You can download the last demo on the server by /cmd dl ., the second last demo by /cmd dl .. etc. You can download the previous 6 demos by /cmd dl . .. ... .... ..... ......"

08. Servers

We decided that for FAIRNESS and EVEN GAMES, all EUROPEAN PLAYERS MUST PLAY WITH SAME PING !
We are aiming for players to play with a maximum of 54ms due to players participating from Spain, Portugal and Russia.
NON-EUROPEAN PLAYERS HAVE TO PLAY ON A SERVER WHERE IS EUROPEAN OPPONENT PINGS 45ms as MINIMUM and 54ms AS MAXIMUM.
EUROPEAN PLAYERS MUST PING NOT LESS THAN 45MS WHEN PLAYING A NON-EUROPEAN PLAYER.

/CL_DELAY_PACKET      MUST BE USED ON ALL EUROPEAN GAMES by the player with lower ping, in case both players ping are not the same.
/CL_DELAY PACKET        MUST BE USED ON NON-EUROPEAN GAMES IF EUROPEAN PLAYER DONT FIND A SERVER WHERE HE PINGS MINIMUM OF 45MS.

In general the game can be played on any server where both players agree to play on.
The League Admins insist that the players' server-choice is done with common sense and that pings are kept as low as possible.

However, if the players don't agree, the server is determined by the following procedure:

1. Both players have to show their lowest possible ping
2. A server has to be found where both players get a ping, which is about the same amount, higher than their lowest possible ping.

Should be easy to find a server when CL_DELAY_PACKET MUST BE USED.
If players still can't agree on a server, please contact admins about it. Admin decision is final.
IF
CL_DELAY_PACKET WAS NOT USED THEN WE ASSUME THAT BOTH PLAYERS AGREED NOT TO. PLAYERS MUST READ RULES BEFORE SIGN-UP !


09. Games and point system

Each player plays ONCE EVERY WEEK with a different player on their division only.
(more games can be played within a week if both players agree and with the permission of an admin)

A calendar with the NEXT GAME and the NEXT OPPONENT will be presented at the RESULTS/CALENDAR section on this website.
The WEEK STARTS every Sunday and END'S every Saturday. ALL WEEKLY GAMES MUST BE PLAYED WITHIN THESE DAYS.



POINTS SYSTEM:

1 POINT FOR EACH MAP WON
1 POINT
FOR ACTIVITY
7 POINTS
FOR GAME WO VICTORY (activity point is included)
FRAGS  FOR WO VICTORY: THE NUMBER OF ALL THE PLAYER FRAGS "FOR" DIVIDED BY THE NUMBER OF MAPS PLAYED* = FRAG "FOR" AVERAGE NUMBER.

IN THE END OF THE LEAGUE, IF 2 OR MORE PLAYERS HAVE THE SAME EXACT NUMBER OF POINTS THEN:
1. THE MATCHES SCORE POINTS BETWEEN THOSE PLAYERS WILL DETERMINE WHO STAYS ON TOP.
2. IN CASE OF THOSE SAME MATCHES
(referred in point 1) WERE A DRAW THEN THE FRAG DIFFERENCE WILL DETERMINE WHO STAYS ON TOP.
(IN THE EXTREME CASE OF FRAG DIFFERENCE IS EQUAL BETWEEN THOSE PLAYERS, THEN ANOTHER DUEL IN THE END OF THE LEAGUE WILL HAPPEN)

WO will be given to the player that during the week tried to schedule the game without success.
NOTE:
If a player gives more than 2 WO's , can lead to league disqualification immediately.



10. Administrators

HEAD ADMINS TASKS:
1. Give assistance to ALL division admins on ALL their tasks.
2. Solve any unexpected situations that might occur.

DIVISION ADMINS TASKS:
1. Check EVERY SUNDAY what games were NOT played until the day before and who should win by WO.
2. Inform to HEAD admin or directly to MEAG about a WO game.
3. Make sure players REPORT their games on #GAME-REPORTS channel.
4. DELETE any messages NOT related to scheduling from their division channels.
5. IF POSSIBLE, when a game is being played, join server and spectate.


Be aware that administrators DO NOT GO AFTER PLAYERS to play their games !! We are NOT babysitters !!
Each player, before and when signing in should READ THE RULES and be responsible for their games !!

Due to the amount of games being played, the results might not be updated right away on the RESULTS/CALENDAR section.
